Two components, i.e. Resin and Hardener are mixed to create Epoxy Resin. Post curing, the resultant output is superior sealing or encapsulation of components. The suitability of the Epoxy Resin totally depends on your specific requirements of the component it is going to be used for.

    Application is a key driver while selecting epoxy resins. It’s important to understand the material and surface compatibility of a resin epoxy product before making a selection.
  • Material compatibility
    While selecting the correct epoxy resin, one has to make sure what product it is going to be used. which is the application i.e. encapsulation, impregnation, flooring, etc. also, material that’s getting encapsulated also need to be checked for example epoxy resin can be used on wood, metal, glass, stone, fabric, ceramic, and even on concrete in order to coat garage, basement, or patio floors.
  • Durability and pot life
    After applying epoxy resin and allowing it to cure, the surface should be hard and smooth. However, the durability of the finished product depends on the epoxy resin that was used. Manufacturers can alter the formula to increase the durability of the product as per specific requirements.
  • Viscosity
    The viscosity stands for the thickness of it, how thick it is before application. Epoxy typically is available in low, medium, and high viscosity. High viscosity epoxy resin is used for the component which requires a superior surface finish however they are slightly difficult to apply whereas, low viscous epoxies offer greater encapsulation and are relatively easy to apply
  • Curing Time
    Epoxy curing time may range from minutes to a few hours to few days as well. Basically curing time is the time taken to completely harden. Length of time is generally specified as per the application requirements
